The work featuring in this film was created by young people from Merseyside working in response to Kneehigh’s production of Hansel & Gretel. I wanted to give the film a darker edge in line with the fairy tale itself. I filmed my friend Roy putting up the [...] The idea behind this was that the vogue ball is all about getting away from the drudgery of everyday life and living your dream.
